Anyone can make a movie.....

I came across this on another blog and checked it out. There are a lot of limitations, but the program reduces the move to basic camera cuts and two person dialogue (or monologues). It seems like it might have potential for certain kinds of animations.

Good thing or bad? Hmmmm.

OVER 100 ART CHAIRS CREATED FOR REGION-WIDE EVENT
CHAIRish The ARTS
To Benefit Arts Education Funds and Arts Council
Over 100 Art Chairs have been created by area artists for CHAIRish the ARTS, a region-wide public art event to support three arts education funds and the Northwest Connecticut Arts Council.

“We have art chairs that are painted, sculpted, reconstructed from bicycles, and car parts. There is a bejeweled chair, and chairs made of glass, clay, wire, wood, and hand woven textiles. It’s unbelievable the level of creativity and imagination that artists have brought to this project. There are functional, decorative garden benches, children’s chairs, stools, rocking chairs, lawn chairs, as well as chairs that are sculpted and/or make a statement as art chairs,” stated Amy Wynn, Executive Director of the Northwest Connecticut Arts Council which is organizing the project.

Starting August 8, CHAIRish the ARTS maps were made available at art chair display sites and other locations so that the public are able to find their way on a “Tour de Chair” and discover the project’s various art chairs. Art Chair display sites are located throughout the region at various cultural institutions and businesses, and are indicated both on the map and at chairishthearts.org starting August 8. The Tour de Chair will encourage people to find as many art chairs as possible and answer chair trivia questions at each display location. Those who submit their Tour de Chair entry forms can then be entered into the prize drawings to be held at the auction in October. Prizes include tickets to area theatres and festivals, dinning and gift certificates, an Ovation Guitar, a Magic Fluke Ukulele, a Taste of Northwest Connecticut basket, to name a few.

Fenway Studios, where my studio is, in Boston, will be having Open Studios in November.
November 14 & 15
Saturday & Sunday
11 AM - 5 PM

Peter and I did not open the studio last year.
However, this year we are opening it up for the event.
Since I have focused on showing both small and large
scale collage monoprint work in shows over the last
three years, I have chosen to do a bit of a "retro" show
of older work which was done just before my movement
into collage monoprint.
My selection of work to be shown at this point will focus
on medium-sized work (up to around 36 inches on the long
side). The number of pieces, which I show, will be 4 or more.
The work is all geometric abstraction.
Fenway Studios is a historically-designated building in Boston,
and this annual event is meant as not only a showcase of the
artwork which is made in this space, but also a way to show the
Boston public this unique and historic building.

June 13 to November 1, 2009 - Color and Form: The Language of Abstract Art
The American abstract art movement, culminating in the early 20th century, was considered a new chapter in American art history. This revolutionary period will be on display at the Berkshire Museum from June 13 to Nov. 1. The exhibit, Color and Form: The Language of Abstract Art, is curated by author, professor, and art historian Hellmut Wohl, and includes works from the Museum’s A.E. Gallatin collection and features pieces from contemporary artists such as Tom O’Neil and Chuck Webster.
